Single Review: Savarre “Unbeautiful”

+++

New York-based spectra rock band, Savarre, is rolling heads with their single, ‘Unbeautiful.’ Shannon Denise Evans, the lead vocalist and heart of the Savarre project, brings her unique artistic signature to bear on this piece of rock masterpiece. With cacophony synths supporting battling cymbals, blending psychedelic rock with motorik beats, darkwave and sound electronica, Savarre throws you right into a jetway of avant-garde experience you won’t forget easily.

If you’re searching for something a bit different and experimental yet superb, this song is for you. So sit back as we delve into the world of a rebel rock superstar with a revolutionary piece of spectra rock mantra.

Unbeautiful Lay Bares In Clear Perspective

The single ‘Unbeautiful’ starts with a petal-like throbbing drumbeat that repeatedly throbbed in between a mildly shrieking violin key. Then Shannon’s scintillating voice kicks in with such a captivating hook on the go-along beat. The track came to life as her voice trails on the high in perfect unison with the crashing guitars, crying cymbals, shattering toms and vocalic intonations that created a perfect setup that would compel anyone to listen to the end. I hardly write reviews on rock music, but this one is FIRE!

If the opening first minute was attractive, the remaining parts of the track proved to be more fulfilling.

Shannon kicked in with vocals that show indifference yet emotionally charged with a message of resilience and a never-say-die attitude.   The guitar became more rugged, the progressive sound on the toms became fiercer with calculative rage. It looks like the spirit of rock music descended with frenetic vibes as Shannon seized the moment and weaved through the dramatic effects of the instrumentals to deliver in crystal clear lyrics her punchline message of “You’re unbeautiful, but you’re free.”

Unbeautiful is Savarre’s sharp-tongue salvos delivered against a society that is rife with dogmatic and oppressive views. This song is hugely relatable for those who have been bullied, chastised, misjudged, undermined, and overlooked as misfits. Shannon brings her incredible storytelling and songwriting skills to hammer home a glaring truth that even the so-called misfits and outliers of the world make the world the interesting place it is. The novelist, playwright, and composer rounded up with a superb chorus urging
people to come out of their shadows because it’s a free world. The entire makeup and underlying theme of the song bore the singer’s human spectrum and spiritual experience. Unbeautiful is a song that seeks to encourage people to honor everyone for who they are and what makes them different.
